Attitudes, Beliefs and Self Improvement

Attitudes and beliefs lead to thoughts and feelings, which lead to decisions and choices. If you want to become aware of your attitudes and beliefs, pay attention to what you're thinking and feeling. If your dream is to establish a new career, but your belief is that it's not possible, what do you think and feel about that? Do you feel futility and resigned to the idea that you can't have your dream? Or, do you think you can have what you want because you deserve it? If it is the latter then you will be inspired to achieve your dream. This is an example of your attitudes and beliefs helping you to improve.

Fear Can Sabatoge Self Improvement

People frequently sabotage themselves by putting their attitudes, beliefs, or fears into their dreams. If you're putting your concerns into your dreams, your fears will become bigger and seem more real as you move closer to getting what you want. Your fears don't belong in your dream; they're part of where you are now, not where you're going. Build a positive attitude. If your dream is to be successful, keep in the "Where I Am Now" section the fear that you won't have time for friends and family. Assume for the "Where I Want To Be" section that, in achieving the dream, you will have all the time you desire to enjoy your success, your friends and your family.

Self Improvement and Finance

In an uneven economy you might dismiss your dream, thinking, "I don't have the finances to handle it." Frequently the very people who make decisions and choices based on their finances are the ones who can't afford to stay where they are. Economically, they would benefit from making a change. There are some dreams that do involve financial requirements but even these dreams can be realized by establishing a strategic plan to achieve your dream. You may not be able to buy your dream home today but you can certainly put a plan into action today that will help you to work towards achieving your dream in the future. How do you use your beliefs and attitudes to achieve self improvement? Do your beliefs empower or impede you? Whose beliefs are you buying? What's stopping you from going for your dreams? Anything and everything you want is just a belief away.

Change Your Negative Beliefs

When you change a belief from negative to positive, you shift your internal conversation from thinking your dream is impossible to seeing its possibilities. To change a negative belief, choose one that is positive over your old limiting belief; practice believing it by acting on it. Lastly, acknowledge that you believed in your dream, acted on it and celebrate your success.
